A) Lake Louise
* Ash took Troy during his first time in Canada (2022)
* Troy proposed to Ash December 2024 (Near boathouse, left side on the lake, off the shore)
- 1.5 hour drive from Banff
- No accessibility for parking at hotel
- Lakeview Restaurant and Lobby Dining Bar only available via QR Code Waitlist (immediate hotel guests prioritized)
- First come, first serve for canoeing on lake (immediate hotel guests prioritized)
- Can park in overflow or Lake Louise parking. Arrive around 9/10 AM to beat peak time, no parking lunchtime and on.
- Hikes include: Little Beehive and Lake Agnes + Tea House, Lakeshore walk.
B) Moraine Lake
- 1.5 hrs (Moraine lake is beside Lake Louise)
- Can organize shuttle, no cars are allowed to drive in under provincial law
- No accessibility into Moraine Lake Lodge or canoeing (can walk into cafe and gift shop)
- Hikes include: Moraine Lake Rock Pile (20 minutes, family friendly for view), Moraine Lake Shoreline (Easy, family friendly), and Larch Valley (most beautiful in Autumn.
C) Canmore
- 1 hr drive from Calgary, around 20/30 minutes from Banff.
- Small downtown area to wander
- Activities include: Dogsledding in winter, hikes in summer, river rafting, horseback riding, golfing, cross country skiing, mountain biking, and more.
- Hikes include: Grassi Lakes, Bow River Loop, Three Sisters Creek Trail, and Karst Spring Trail.
